Minister Sah: Government focused on women’s empowerment

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Nawal Kishor Sah, has emphasized the government’s focus on women’s empowerment.

Speaking at the inauguration of an international conference on gender inclusivity in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he highlighted that the ministry’s primary agenda includes advancing women’s rights, improving their lifestyles, and elevating their status.

Minister Sah described the 21st century as the era of women, noting that patriarchal systems are gradually diminishing. He asserted that there should be no gap between men and women in this century.

He also underscored the need to implement the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission and the Women’s Commission.

He stressed that achieving gender equality and ensuring women’s presence on par with men is a key responsibility. He affirmed that men cannot progress if women are left behind.
