KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Sah has removed a status he posted on Facebook that included a photo of a state MP from the CPN-UML party.

In his post, Sah had accused the MP of committing violence against a young girl and criticized the government’s lack of action.

He had highlighted that, despite the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s efforts, the government had done nothing and had ignored calls to take legal action.

Sah also addressed Prime Minister KP Oli directly, questioning whether the MP responsible for the violence would be held accountable or not.

Following Sah’s post, UML activists protested, and criticism against Sah grew. According to UML leaders, the post was removed due to the backlash.

However, Sah’s secretariat claims that he did not personally remove the post. They state that Facebook removed it and that efforts are underway to recover it.
