KATHMANDU: Tara Air is set to resume its regular flights between Pokhara and Jomsom starting Tuesday.
The flights, which were suspended due to adverse weather conditions, will resume as the tourist season begins and the weather starts to improve.
To ensure regular service to Jomsom, Tara Air will station one aircraft overnight in Pokhara. Initially, the airline plans to operate five flights per day, weather permitting. These flights will be conducted from Pokhara’s old airport.
Jomsom Airport, located in Mustang District, sits at an altitude of 2,736 meters above sea level, with a runway length of 739 meters.
In addition, for the upcoming tourist season, Tara Air has announced a schedule for regular flights between Ramechhap and Lukla, starting from September 20. Various airlines have been operating flights from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap to Lukla in Solukhumbu during the tourist season, catering to tourists visiting the Everest region.
For this season, Tara Air will operate two Twin Otter aircraft from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap to Lukla, with plans for 10 to 15 flights daily. Due to increasing air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport, airlines have recently been using Manthali as a base for flights to Lukla.
Tara Air has scheduled both of its aircraft to remain stationed overnight at Ramechhap Airport, with regular flights planned until December 15.
Besides the Ramechhap-Lukla route, Tara Air also offers flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, Phaplu, from Pokhara to Jomsom, and from Nepalgunj to remote areas like Rara, Humla, Bajura, Jumla, and Dolpa.
