KATHMANDU: Muna Pandey, a Nepali student who was murdered in Houston, Texas, USA, has been made public as she was murdered during a robbery.

Shah, a repeat offender with a history of incarcerations, was arrested on Wednesday after being identified through CCTV footage.
Houston Police apprehended him based on a tip from a witness who saw him near a traffic light.
Shah has been charged with capital murder, the most severe form of homicide under Texas law, which can carry the death penalty. The court documents reveal that Shah used a deadly weapon with the intent to kill during the robbery. The charges have been filed in the 262nd State District Court.
In addition to the capital murder charge, Shah faces another charge for unlawfully carrying a weapon. He was allegedly in possession of a visible, uncovered firearm in his vehicle. Shah is set to appear in court on Tuesday, Sept 3, for the murder charge, and on Thursday, Sept 5, for the illegal weapon charge. He is currently being held at the Harris County Jail.
Munna Pandey was found dead in her apartment on Monday evening after police were notified of a shooting. Officers arrived at the scene at 5:35 PM and discovered her body. Muna was the only child in her family.
It is suspected that the incident might have occurred on Saturday, as her phone had been off since then. However, the exact time and circumstances of the murder are still under investigation. Police are continuing to look into the motive behind the crime.
