Bangladesh wins SAFF U-20 Championship football title

KATHMANDU: Bangladesh has clinched the SAFF U-20 Championship title by defeating the home team, Nepal, with a convincing 4-1 victory.

Mirajul Islam was the star for Bangladesh, scoring two goals, while Rabbi Hossain and Ahmed Novon added one each.

Nepal’s Samir Tamang managed to score a consolation goal for his team.

This is Bangladesh’s first title in this age-group tournament.

On the other hand, Nepal missed the chance to secure a hat-trick of titles.

Nepal had previously won the championship in 2015 and 2017, but fell short in this final.
