Gold prices up by Rs 1,000 today

KATHMANDU: In a notable development in the domestic market, gold prices have surged significantly.

On Sunday, the price of gold increased by Rs 1,000 per tola, reaching Rs 152,400 per tola, up from Rs 151,400 per tola on Friday.

Previously, on Wednesday, gold prices hit a record high of Rs 153,000 per tola. On the same day, silver was valued at Rs 1,850 per tola, an increase from Rs 1,815 per tola on Friday.

The Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association reports that today, the price of ten grams of hallmarked gold stands at Rs 130,660, while ten grams of silver is priced at Rs 1,586.

Globally, gold prices have also risen, reaching USD 2,512.18 per ounce.

This increase is attributed to a weakening US dollar and a decline in US bond yields.
