Week-long Khichapokhari-New Road trade fair opens

KATHMANDU: A week-long trade fair has kicked off in the Khichapokhari-New Road area of Kathmandu to promote local businesses.

Organized by the Khichapokhari New Road Business Association, the fair will offer consumers discounts on ready-made clothing and footwear.

According to Sagar Shakya, the association’s Chair, the fair began today and will run until Aug 27.

During the fair, items such as shirts, pants, t-shirts, ready-made garments, and shoes will be available at discounts ranging from 40% to 60%, as informed by Bharat Badal, the association’s senior vice president.

The Khichapokhari New Road area, home to around 600 businesses, hosts such fairs twice a year, according to Badal.
