IME Life Insurance appoints Dinesh Amatya & Khilendra Poudel as new Deputy CEOs

KATHMANDU: IME Life Insurance Company has appointed Dinesh Amatya and Khilendra Poudel as Deputy Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).

Dinesh Amatya officially took on the role on 16 July 2024, while Khilendra Poudel assumed his position on 21 Aug 2024.

Khilendra Poudel transitioned from his previous role as CEO of IME Limited to join IME Life Insurance. Prior to his appointment as Deputy CEO, Dinesh Amatya was serving as the Deputy General Manager of the company.

Amatya has a long history in the insurance industry, beginning his career at Surya Life Insurance, where he worked from its establishment in 2008 until 2017.

He joined IME Life Insurance as an Assistant General Manager and has been with the company since its inception in 2017, serving as the Chief Operating Officer.

Amatya brings over three decades of experience in office administration, insurance development, risk management, reinsurance, insurance valuation, claims management, and insurance services. He holds a Master’s degree in Management from Tribhuvan University.

Khilendra Poudel has held various responsibilities within the IME Group since its founding, including roles in remittance, payment systems, fintech, digital wallets, and cross-border transactions.

He has also served as a director for several financial institutions promoted by the IME Group, including Smart Choice, Sani Securities, and IME Digital Solutions.

Poudel earned his MBA in Finance from Tribhuvan University and completed executive courses in Financial Management and Cross-Border Investment Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and the Institute of Bankers Malaysia.

Additionally, he has completed a professional course in Policy Design and Financial Services from Harvard Kennedy School in the United States.
