KATHMANDU: Two individuals in Dang have died while cleaning a well.

The incident occurred in Damar Gaun, Ward 13 of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City.

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh BK, 16, and Ram Bahadur Nepali, 38, both from Damar Gaun, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Thakur Prasad Pokhrel from the Tulsipur Area Police Office.

Both individuals had entered the well around 10 a.m. and were found unconscious, prompting locals to alert the police.

A police team led by Assistant Inspector Anand Hitang from the Damar Gaun police post quickly arrived at the scene. The police dispatched eight security personnel, led by Inspector Dham Prasad Shrestha from the Tulsipur Area Police Office, for the rescue operation.

The team from the Ambapur Base Camp of the Nepal Army later extricated BK and Nepali from the well.

Despite being taken to Rapti Regional Hospital in Tulsipur for treatment, both individuals could not be saved, according to Deputy Superintendent Pokhrel.
