ICC moves Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to UAE due to unrest in Bangladesh

KATHMANDU: The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will now be held in the UAE instead of Bangladesh.

The tournament will take place from Oct 3 to 30 in Dubai and Sharjah.

The ICC announced that while the host nation has changed, the Bangladesh Cricket Board will still be the event organizer.

The decision to move the tournament from Bangladesh to the UAE was due to ongoing unrest and restrictions imposed after the formation of a new government in Bangladesh.

A total of 10 teams will participate in the World Cup, including the host Bangladesh, Australia, England, India, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan, Scotland, and Sri Lanka.
