20-year-old Sonu passes away in South Korea; father recently died in Malaysia

KATHMANDU: A 20-year-old Nepali student, Sonu Shrestha, has passed away in South Korea.

Sonu, from Tilatar in Ilam’s Mai Municipality-1, was studying at Ulsan University in South Korea.

Her death was confirmed by Hari Khanal, President of the Ilam Korea Public Relations Forum.

The cause of Sonu’s death is not yet clear, and her family has been informed.

Efforts are underway to send her body back to Nepal.

Her father, Lila Kumar Shrestha, who had been working in Malaysia for several years, had also passed away just three months ago.
