Sudurpashchim State to provide Rs 100,000 to Bajhang landslide victims

KATHMANDU: The Sudurpashchim State Government has announced a relief package of Rs 100,000 per person for the families affected by the landslide in Tumedagaun, Bungal Municipality-10, Bajhang.

Sudurpashchim State Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah on Monday issued a press release announcing the financial assistance for the victims’ families.

The tragic incident occurred on the night of Aug 18, when heavy rain caused a landslide that buried the house of Bir Bahadur Dhami in Tumedagaun.

The landslide resulted in the death of Dhami’s 55-year-old wife Kali Dhami, his 25-year-old daughter-in-law Golki Dhami, and two granddaughters: 6-year-old Aakriti Dhami and 3-year-old Laxmi Dhami.

Chief Minister Shah expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.

He also directed relevant agencies to immediately engage in rescue and relief efforts.
