KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that there should be no foul play in both sports and politics.

Addressing the third meeting of the Central Committee of the Nepal Sports Federation, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the importance of playing fair, noting that just as in sports, one will be “out” in politics if they engage in foul play.

“While competing on the field, one must play with discipline. Good players do not commit fouls; only poor players do,” he remarked, adding, “Foul play is dishonest, and it is unjust.”

He also highlighted that instead of trying to move the goalpost to suit one’s needs, one should aim accurately at the existing goalpost to score.

“It’s not about moving the goalpost to suit your convenience; it’s about making the right shot where the goalpost is,” he said. “Without discipline, even sports cannot function—so how can society or politics?”

He concluded by asserting that a disciplined approach is essential for both sports and society, stating that it is impossible to imagine a well-functioning society without it.
