Six candidates apply for FDB Chair post

KATHMANDU: Six artists have applied for the post of Chair of the Film Development Board (FDB).

On July 31 the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology issued a notice inviting applications for the position of Chairperson of the FDB. In response, six individuals have submitted their applications.

According to Rajesh Kumar Thapa, Member Secretary of the FDB and Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the applications were received within the 15-day window specified in the notice.

The applicants include film director and journalist Dinesh DC, actress Karishma Manandhar, former General Manager of the Cultural Institute Rajesh Thapa, film director Deepa Pandey Basnet, former board member Prakash Bhattarai, and film producer and former board member Arjun Kumar Dangol.

Thapa noted that the qualifications of the applicants are yet to be assessed.

The final appointment to the Chairperson position will be based on the evaluation of their qualifications.
