Elderly woman crushed to death by tree in Lamjung
The deceased Mishra, was crushed by a tree while she was on her way to fill the water from a well located about 100 meters from her home.
KATHMANDU: A woman has died after being crushed by a fallen tree in Lamjung.
District Police Office informed that 82-year-old Liladevi Mishra of Sundarbazar Municipality-1 Kuncha was crushed to death by a tree at 5 pm on Monday.
The deceased Mishra, was crushed by a tree while she was on her way to fill the water from a well located about 100 meters from her home.
According to Inspector Thaneshwar Chapai of the District Police Office, the tree, which was about 10 meters above the well, fell suddenly, resulting in Mishra’s death at the scene.
The police speculate that the heavy rain may have caused the ground to become unstable, leading to the tree’s fall.
The police have conducted a field inspection and collected evidence.
Inspector Chapai mentioned that the body is being transported to the District Hospital in Besisahar Municipality-8 for an autopsy.
The police stated that although the deceased, Mishra, has a husband, three sons, and a daughter-in-law, only her husband resides at the house.
