KATHMANDU: The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has attributed the recent helicopter crash involving Air Dynasty to crew error.

The authority’s Director General, Engineer Pradeep Adhikari, provided an initial response during a meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives on Thursday.

Adhikari mentioned that a detailed report would be provided by the investigation committee formed by the government.

According to the authority, the crash occurred because the helicopter entered an area with poor weather and clouds, which was not authorized by the Civil Aviation’s Visual Flight Rules (VFR).

Director General Adhikari highlighted that it is prohibited for helicopters to enter cloud-covered areas or areas not visible to the eye without proper VFR authorization, and the responsibility for the incident lies with the crew.

On Aug 7 (Wednesday), the helicopter crash resulted in the deaths of five people, including four Chinese nationals.
