Chopper crash in US: One dies

KATHMANDU: A helicopter crash at Fort Novosel, Alabama, on Wednesday resulted in one fatality, according to officials.

The incident involved an AH-64 Apache helicopter that went down during routine flight training at approximately 1:40 p.m. local time (1840 GMT), with two crew members on board.

The male instructor onboard was pronounced dead at the scene, while the U.S. Army student pilot sustained minor injuries and was airlifted for medical treatment.

Fort Novosel officials reported that flight training operations are continuing at the base, and an investigation into the crash is underway.
