NEW DELHI: Indian air carriers have resumed flight operations to Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka amid political turmoil in the neighbouring country, officials said Wednesday.

The Indian carriers, including Air India, Vistara, and IndiGo, resumed their flight services to Dhaka briefly disrupted for a day following the resignation of Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.

The airlines are also offering rescheduling waivers to accommodate affected passengers.

A special Air India flight brought 205 people from Dhaka to New Delhi on Wednesday morning.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed on Tuesday that Hasina arrived in India on Monday evening.
