KATHMANDU: Google has recently removed the eSewa app from the Play Store, leading to significant concern among users. At present, the app is not available for search or download from the platform.

The removal has sparked speculation that it may be due to security vulnerabilities reported in the eSewa app. Users have raised concerns about potential security risks associated with the mobile wallet.

IT security experts argue that if security threats are confirmed, it would be advisable not to keep the eSewa app on mobile devices.
