Ravin Kumar Nepal appointed Chair of SmartChoice Technologies

KATHMANDU: SmartChoice Technologies Limited, which has recently obtained an operating license for payment systems from the Nepal Rastra Bank, has appointed Mr. Ravin Kumar Nepal as its Chair.

Mr. Nepal took the oath of office and secrecy today before Deputy Governor Mr. Bam Bahadur Mishra at the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the Executive Director of the Payment Systems Department, other staff members from the Payment Systems Department, members of the Board of Directors of SmartChoice Technologies Limited, and the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

SmartChoice Technologies has been delivering high-quality digital payment services for the past 20 years, providing services such as payment cards, QR codes, mobile banking, and inter-bank payments.

Chair Nepal began his banking career at Nepal Green Bank (now Standard Chartered Bank) and later worked at Himalayan Bank before retiring from Laxmi Sunrise Bank.

Previously, Chair Nepal served as a founding director and held the position of Chairman for two terms at Nepal Electronic Payment System (NEPS), another payment system operator.

With extensive experience in various banks and financial institutions, Chair Nepal is well-versed in the digital payment sector.
