National flag flown at half-mast in Madhesh over demise of Gurudev Kamat

KATHMANDU: The Madhesh State government today lowered the national flag to half-mast in mourning for the demise of classical musician, singer, and teacher Gurudev Kamat.

He passed away last Thursday at the age of 69.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh said the province government is deeply saddened by the passing away of the veteran classical music Guru (teacher).

Earlier, the Madhesh government decided that the national flag would be half-masted in all ministries today in respect of Gurudev Kamat.

Kamat had been battling against kidney-related complications for long and passed away at his residence in Pokharbhinda of Patari rural municipality-2 in Siraha
