Fire ravages furniture industry in Madhyapurthimi

KATHMANDU: A fire broke out at a furniture industry located at Madhyapurthimi Municipality-3, Kaushaltar, resulting in property damage exceeding Rs 20 million.

The fire destroyed the industry, which was operated from a residence owned by Shankar Katuwal.

According to Rajan Karki, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Bhaktapur District Police Office, the blaze caused damage to furniture and aluminum valued at Rs 26 million.

Five fire engines from across the Kathmandu Valley were deployed to tackle the inferno, which was eventually brought under control after three hours of intense effort.

Local residents and police officers also joined forces to extinguish the flames.
