KATHMANDU: Dirgha Bahadur Sodari, the Chief Minister of Far West, has resigned from his position without holding a parliamentary vote of confidence.

Following a shift in the political landscape, where the UML withdrew its support on July 4, the Chief Minister found himself in a minority position.

Despite his earlier statement that he would seek a vote of confidence from the parliament before resigning, he ultimately chose to resign directly.

After the UML’s withdrawal of support, 30 days passed by Friday.

Although he had sent a letter on Wednesday and scheduled a meeting for Friday at 4 PM to address the situation, he announced his resignation at the meeting without having first held the vote of confidence.
