Man-eating tiger captured in Kanchanpur

KATHMANDU: A tiger has been brought under control with the deployment of a team of elephants in Kanchanpur.
The tiger was captured from a field in Dodhara Chandani Municipality-2.
The technical team from Shuklaphanta National Park and Bardia National Park tranquilized the tiger with a dart to control it.
The tiger on Thursday morning, attacked 23-year-old Hira Shah from Dodhara Chandani-2 while cutting grass near the home.
She died on the spot from the attack.
Efforts to control the tiger began on Thursday but were only successful today, according to Manoj Air, a conservation officer at Shuklaphanta National Park. “We are preparing to send the tiger to Bardiya,” he said.
The team and security personnel had been guarding the field throughout the night.
To capture the tiger, a technical team with five elephants was deployed, as reported by Conservation Officer Air.
