Cholera in Pyuthan: Three family members affected

KATHMANDU: Three members of a single family in Pyuthan have been confirmed to be infected with cholera.
The affected individuals are 71-year-old Laxmikumari Malla, 35-year-old Min Bahadur Malla, and 12-year-old Shivkumari Malla from Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-5.
According to Hari Prasad Jaisi, the head of the health department at Gaumukhi Rural Municipality, the trio experienced symptoms of diarrhea and underwent health tests at the district hospital.
“The tests at the district hospital confirmed cholera in all three individuals,” Jaisi reported.
Additionally, eight other people in Gaumukhi Rural Municipality have shown symptoms of diarrhea.
They are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.
