Renowned Classical Musician Gurudev Kamat passes away at 69

KATHMANDU: Classical Musician and Singer Gurudev Kamat has passed away.

He died at his birthplace, Pokharbhinda, Laxampur Patari Rural Municipality-2 in Siraha, at 6 AM.

He was 69 years old and was suffering from kidney disease for a long time.

He had returned to his village a month ago due to financial difficulties that prevented him from receiving treatment in Kathmandu, where he had been residing.

Kamat, a respected name in classical music, had been contributing to Nepali songs, music, and classical singing for the past 40 years while living in Kathmandu.
