KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall overnight in Radhe Radhe, Sangam Colony, Kamerotar area has severely affected residents since the integration plan of the land in Ward 5, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

The inundation has left them busy salvaging household goods to higher ground and relocating their vehicles to safer places.

Amidst inspecting small businesses and stores, some lost their goods when the water flooded in.

The issue does not stem from the Hanumante river entering this area; rather, it arises from the negligence associated with the Kamerotar Land Consolidation Project and the Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

The incessant rain flooded Hanumante and surrounding streams, inundating hospitals, schools, settlements, factories, and artists’ workshops. Affected families estimate millions in damages.
