Disaster strikes Nepal: 139 lives lost in weather-related tragedies

In flood and landslide incidents, two deaths each were reported in Koshi and Bagmati States, while Gandaki and Karnali States reported one death each.

KATHMANDU: Today, a devastating disaster due to the weather has resulted in the loss of one hundred thirty-nine lives across the country by this afternoon.

Floods, landslides, and other calamities have caused fatalities as follows: two in Kathmandu Valley, twenty-two in Koshi, six in Madhesh, twenty-nine in Bagmati, thirty-eight in Gandaki, twenty-four in Lumbini, eight in Karnali, and ten in Sudurpaschim State, according to the Central Police Public Relations Department.

In flood and landslide incidents, two deaths each were reported in Koshi and Bagmati States, while Gandaki and Karnali States reported one death each.

Search operations are ongoing for the missing persons.

Furthermore, 156 individuals have been injured due to the disaster.

Floods have submerged 184 houses, while 38 houses, 86 cowsheds, 43 bridges, two schools, and two government offices have been damaged.

Approximately 3,030 households have been displaced due to the incidents.
