KATHMANDU: The college campus of Softwarica College of IT and E-commerce in Kathmandu is all set to host ‘Tech X 2024’, an exhibition showcasing projects built by information technology students. Scheduled to run from July 30 to Aug 4, the event aims to highlight cutting-edge projects in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Cyber Security.

Among the featured exhibits are AI robots designed for robotic dogs, libraries, and airport management, alongside semi-autonomous systems for warehouse management.

One of the showcased projects involves a robot capable of analyzing password cracking.

The exhibition will also feature over 30 innovative projects such as AI robotic teachers, banking robots, tour guide robots, robotic football, AI assistants for hospitals, robotic waiters, and more.

Additionally, the event will kick off the ‘Robot Warriors League 2024’, where over 40 robots will compete in robot combat battles representing various companies, spanning a month-long competition.

According to Bijay Shrestha, the college chair, the primary objective of the program is to inform about recent advancements in the IT sector and discuss the role of IT education in personal and professional development.

He emphasized the importance of IT studies in contributing to societal changes and developing practical skills.

The exhibition, previously known as ‘Tech X’, has been renamed ‘IoT Exhibition’ this year by Softwarica College, marking its fourth edition. It promises to offer insights into electric vehicles and intellectual games, with expectations of attracting more than ten thousand visitors, all admission-free.

This event signifies a proactive step towards showcasing the transformative potential of IT education and its practical applications in contemporary society.
