Gausala 26 requests not to escalate case against Sandeep Lamichhane allegations

KATHMANDU: Gausala 26 has filed a petition urging not to escalate the case against Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane over allegations of rape.

Gausala 26 requested the Supreme Court to not process a retrial in the case against cricketer Lamichhane.

They approached the High Government Attorney’s Office in Patan, also highlighting their citizenship credentials in their plea.

Previously, the Patan High Court had ruled to dismiss the case registered against Gausala 26 after filing a case subsequent to their complaint.

The full text of the case was prepared and submitted only on Tuesday to the High Government Attorney’s Office.

On Thurday, Gausala 26 visited and submitted their complaint independently.

Shankar Khatri, chief of the High Government Attorney’s Office, stated that due to the mental stress and social stigma involved, Gausala 26 had also requested not to escalate the matter further.
