KATHMANDU: The Bagmati State government has expressed sorrow over the deaths of 18 people in the Saurya Airlines plane crash on Wednesday.

The very first meeting of the newly constitute state council of ministers led by Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama today paid tributes to those killed in the crash, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, according to the state minister for labor, employment, and transport, Prem Bhakta Maharjan.

The plane with the call sign 9N- AME skidded off the runway and fell into a ditch on the east side while taking off for Pokhara late morning on Wednesday.

Captain Manish Shakya, the sole survivor in the crash, is being treated at Sinamangal-based KMC Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.

Similarly, the meeting paid tributes to those killed in the accident of two buses following a landslide at Simaltal of Chitwan a few days back.

It extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Likewise, the meeting agreed to allocate Rs 52 million to the District Disaster Committee in all 13 districts to carry out disaster management efforts.
