Nepal women’s cricket team returns home after Asia Cup participation
Nepal participated in the third edition of the Asia Cup, where they suffered a defeat against UAE by 6 wickets.
KATHMANDU: The Nepali national women’s cricket team has returned home after participating in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup held in Maldives.
According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the team arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday afternoon via Sri Lankan Airlin
Nepal, which participated in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup tournament in Sri Lanka for the third time, returned home today after exiting from the group stage.
Earlier, Nepal participated in the 2012 and 2016 Asia Cup. Even then, Nepal could not win.
This time, out of the three matches played, Nepal has won one match and lost two matches.
In the first match, Nepal defeated UAE by six wickets.
This is the first victory of Nepal in the history of Asia Cup.

Captain Indu Barma of the Nepali national women’s cricket team expressed the need for significant improvements to compete in major tournaments like the Asia Cup.
In the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Indu aims for the team to play better against strong teams like India and Pakistan.
She highlighted the necessary improvements in batting, bowling, and fielding to achieve victories against major teams.
Despite facing challenges, Nepal’s participation in the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup marks a significant milestone for the national cricket team, as they returned home on Thursday.
They were warmly welcomed by Anjan Dhamala, Acting Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC), and member Prakash Kumar Kusari.
