National flag at half-mast as Nepal mourns Saurya Airlines crash victims

KATHMANDU: In a solemn response to the tragic accident involving a Saurya Airlines plane on Wednesday morning at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the national flag was flown at half-mast today.

The Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to lower the national flag in mourning for the fatalities in the accident, which claimed the lives of 18 individuals.

The pilot of the aircraft, Manish Ratna Shakya, was rescued in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal.

Additionally, the government has formed a probe committee led by former Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Ratish Chandra Lal Suman, to investigate the plane crash incident.
