Engineer caught with one lakh rupees in bribe charged

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court against engineer Mohammad Akhtar Hussain, currently working in Phungling Municipality of Taplejung, Nepal.

The CIAA team, deployed from its Itahari office, apprehended Hussain while he was allegedly demanding a bribe from a service recipient involved in the construction of sports fields.

According to CIAA spokesperson Narahari Ghimire, Hussain has been arrested with one lakh rupees in bribe money.

The CIAA has requested legal action against accused Hussain under the Corruption Prevention Act.
