Nepal defeated again in second friendly match

KATHMANDU: The Nepali women’s national volleyball team also lost to the Russians in the second friendly match.

The match, held at the Tripureshwor-based National Sports Council (NSC) covered hall on Monday, ended with Nepal losing in straight sets 3-0.

Nepal lost the first set 25-14.

Despite their efforts to stage a comeback in the second set, Nepal narrowly lost 25-23. In the third set, Nepal took an early lead but failed to sustain it, eventually losing 25-22.

This is Nepal’s second defeat in a row in friendly matches against Russia.

Earlier, in their first encounter, Nepal was also defeated 3-0, losing the sets 25-17, 25-19, and 25-16 consecutively.

Nepal had prepared for these matches as part of their training for the upcoming Cava National League.

Starting from Aug 1 at the NSC covered hall, the league will feature Nepal alongside participants from India, Iran, Sri Lanka, and Maldives.
