KATHMANDU: In a disappointing loss, Nepal faced Pakistan in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

Nepal suffered a humiliating defeat, losing by 9 wickets as Pakistan chased down Nepal’s target of 109 runs with ease.

Pakistan achieved the target in just 12 overs, with opener Muneeba Ali contributing 46 runs off 34 balls, including 8 boundaries.

Gul Feroz, with a quickfire 57 runs off 35 balls, bolstered Pakistan’s victory.

Nepal, batting first, managed to score only 108 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite a valiant effort by Kavita Joshi who top-scored with 31 runs off 23 balls, Nepal struggled throughout their innings.

This defeat complicates Nepal’s journey in the tournament’s preliminary stage.

Having previously lost to UAE, Nepal faces a daunting challenge in their final group match against India, who have defeated both Pakistan and UAE.

Even a victory against Pakistan by UAE might not guarantee Nepal’s progress to the next phase.

On Sunday, Nepal lost to Pakistan by losing 6 wickets in a scheduled 20 overs to make only 108 runs.

Kavita Joshi contributed the highest of 31 runs in just 23 balls for Nepal.

Sita Rana Magar scored 26 runs and Pooja Mahato scored 25 runs.

Kavita Kunwar added 13 runs in 13 balls, but other batters couldn’t score in double digits.

Opener Samjhana Khadka scored 4 runs and Rubina Chhetri scored 8 runs.

Although Nepal started poorly, Pooja and Kavita managed to keep up the performance.

Captain Indu Barma could not open the account.

Bindu Rawal was out with a zero.

Sakia Iqbal of Pakistan took 2 wickets while Fatima Sana took one wicket.

All other wickets were run out.
