Bagmati Chief Minister Jamkattel resigns

KATHMANDU: Bagmati State Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel has tendered his resignation.

In a session convened today by the State Assembly, Chief Minister Jamkattel addressed the presence of his minority government and announced his intention to submit a motion of no confidence against his own leadership.

This move comes with the aim of ousting the current minority government.

Shortly after the commencement of the session by Assembly Speaker Bhuwan Kumar Pathak, Chief Minister Jamkattel was given time to speak in favor of the no-confidence motion.

The Assembly Speaker Pathak adjourned today’s meeting, citing the lack of further announcements.
