Elderly patient dies from fall through hospital’s third-floor window

KATHMANDU: A patient who was being treated at the College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (Old Medical College) in Chitwan died after falling from a three-story window.

A 76-year-old Bal Bahadur Khamcha Magar of Hupsekot Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi died.

According to the District Police Office, Khamcha Magar was admitted to the hospital on July 17 for bladder cancer treatment.

At 10:40 am today, Khamcha Magar fell from the window of the third floor of the ‘A’ block of the hospital and was seriously injured.

Khamcha Magar, who was seriously injured, died during treatment in the emergency room of the same hospital, police said.

According to the police, further investigation into the incident is underway.
