KATHMANDU: Spain secured their place in the Euro 2024 final by defeating France 2-1 on Tuesday.

This marks the first time in 12 years that Spain has reached the final of a major tournament.

Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to score in the tournament’s history at just 16 years old.

In the match held in Munich, Spain overturned a one-goal deficit to claim victory.

France initially took the lead in the ninth minute with a header from Randal Kolo Muani, assisted by Kylian Mbappé.

However, Spain scored twice within four minutes to turn the game around.

Yamal equalized in the 21st minute with a brilliant goal. Spain then took the lead in the 25th minute with a goal from Dani Olmo.

Spain will now face the winner of tonight’s second semifinal between England and the Netherlands in the final.

Spain is seeking its first Euro title since 2012.
