Nepali Patro hits 10 million downloads milestone on Google Play Store

KATHMANDU: The popular mobile app Nepali Patro, based on the Bikram Sambat calendar, has reached 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store.

Nepali Patro is the first digital calendar in Nepal, offering accurate information about Nepali dates, festivals, traditions, Vedic Hindu events, and cultural celebrations of various ethnic groups, languages, and beliefs.

The app includes over a dozen essential features such as radio, news updates (Yo Gazzab Chha), Vedic calendar, horoscopes, price lists, and astrology.

It continuously updates news from popular Nepali sources and boasts a 4.3-star rating on the Google Play Store.

According to Aashish Karki of Nepali Patro, users can access informative and entertaining content from over 400 popular Nepali radio stations.

Features like exchange rates, gold and silver prices, and vegetable market prices contribute to the app’s significant user engagement.

The app has over 1 million daily active users and more than 10 million monthly active users.

For the first time in Nepal, programs broadcasted by Nepali radio stations can be listened to on Nepali Patro at the user’s convenience.

The app offers audio recordings of programs from the past 48 hours, along with their names and broadcast times. Users can download Nepali Patro and access the radio feature to find the program details.

Nepali Patro is connected to over 150 major online news portals and more than 350 radio stations, making it the Nepali app with the largest communication network.

Recently, it has also made its radio services available on the popular cable distribution network NetTV.
