GIBL joins hand with NAS IT for sustainability in IT sector in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) and Nepal Association of Software and IT Services (NAS IT) have signed a significant partnership agreement.

In the presence of GIBL’s Deputy CEO Suman Pokharel and NAS IT’s Chair Richan Shrestha, the agreement was formalized. From the bank’s side, Chief Market Officer Dilip Pokharel, and from NAS IT, Treasurer Abhay Paudel, signed the agreement.

The Nepali government has prioritized celebrating the upcoming fiscal year 2081/82 as the Information Technology Decade departure year in its budget.

Describing the agreement’s expansion, Pokharel, GIBL’s Deputy CEO, highlighted the bank’s investments and initiatives in the information technology sector.

He emphasized that this agreement will significantly contribute to the development, expansion, and commercialization of information technology in Nepal.

With 354 branches physically providing banking services across 77 districts, GIBL has expanded its reach through mobile banking, internet banking, and digital universes.

The bank has ensured excellent banking services to over 4.8 million direct customers, focusing on appropriate investments in the information and technology sector, offering services based on the latest technologies, and ensuring the security of customer details as part of its initiative.

Under this deep partnership agreement, GIBL aims to provide easy and convenient banking services to NAS IT and its associated organizations and employees.

Additionally, both institutions will organize mutual programs to enhance knowledge, skills, and experiences of their employees through mutual relations and capacity-building programs.

GIBL has become the first deep partner to support NAS IT’s newly established deep fund, aiming to enhance innovation and research, support startups and small businesses, promote education and capacity development, encourage community involvement, and promote social responsibility.
