Three persons held with 14-kg silver

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested three persons along with silver jewelries weighing 14.25 kg.

Those arrested were Indian nationals Aman Kumar, 22; Biki Kumar Saha, 26; and Shravan Prasad Kanu, 34, from Liparnibirta-6, Parsa, according to Hobindra Bogati, Superintendent of Police.

The jewelries were found hidden in an Indian vehicle (BR 06 U 9053) and kept in an auto workshop service of Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu.

Those arrested ones were found involved in sales and distribution of illegal jewelries to the Revenue Investigation Department.

The CIB had acted on a tip off that a car with Indian number plate was heading to Kathmandu from Lalitpur, which had carried silver jewelries.

They were arrested two days back.
