APF divers rescued 2 trapped in Narayani River

During a fishing excursion, three people were caught in the river; one managed to swim to safety on their own.

KATHMANDU: On the evening of Ashar 22 (July 6), two individuals trapped in the Narayani River at Butwal Bazaar, in Gaidakot Municipality-6 of East Nawalparasi district, were rescued after approximately five hours by divers from the Armed Police Force.

During a fishing excursion, three people were caught in the river; one managed to swim to safety on their own.

The remaining two, 50-year-old Om Bahadur Gurung and 42-year-old Khum Bahadur Gurung from Gaindakot Municipality-5, were safely rescued by divers dispatched from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School in Kurintar.

The rescue operation commenced at 10:15 PM on Saturday night following notification of the incident.
