KATHMANDU: Rainfall continues across various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall has been recorded in different areas of the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours.

As per the report issued at 7:48 AM, one location in the Kathmandu Valley experienced extremely heavy rainfall, and seven locations experienced heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours.

The highest rainfall within the valley was recorded in Lele, Lalitpur, with 124.8 millimeters.

Rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters is classified as extremely heavy by meteorologists.

The current water level at the Khodku River Jharyarasi gauge station in Lalitpur district has surpassed the warning level.

As the water level continues to rise, posing a flood risk in riverbank areas, the division has issued an SMS alert urging heightened vigilance.
