GANDAKI: The Pokhara Metropolitan City has unveiled an idea of Agri-Ambulance to bridge farmers and buyers by ending intermediaries in the agriculture business.

The Agri-Ambulance has helped for easy marketing of agricultural products from the rural areas of the metropolitan city.

The Agri-Ambulance was bought at Rs 3.6 million by the metropolitan city in partnership with the Value Chain Development of Fruits and Vegetables Project.

The ambulance is supplying the agricultural products for free from the rural areas of Pumdi Bhumdi, Chapakot, Ghatichhina, Majhthana, Bharatpokhari, Bagmara, Jhirjhika and other sites to the city of Pokhara.

The goods brought from the rural sites are sold from different areas of the city on different days and the fresh vegetables have gained much popularity, chief of agriculture division of the metropolitan city Manohar Kadariya said.

According to Kadariya, the buyers in the city could get the fruits and vegetables by paying an additional 20 percent of the purchased price.
