Koshi State Council of Ministers meet: three committees formed

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Council of Ministers in the Koshi State today formed three committees coordinated by ministers.

The meeting held under the chair of Chief Minister, Hikmat Kumar Karki, constituted the Political and Administration Committee under the coordination of Ram Bahadur Magar (Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning); the Law, Justice and State Affairs Committee led by Lila Ballav Adhikari (Minister for Internal Affairs and Law) and the Economic, Social and Infrastructure Committee headed by Rajendra Karki (Minister for Health).

Government spokesperson and Minister Adhikari announced that during the meeting, it was agreed to proceed with the second amendment to the State Civil Service Act, 2079 BS.

Likewise, a recommendation was made to the State Chief to amend the State Planning Commission Formation and Operating Order-2075 BS, and to repeal an ordinance that aimed to amend several provincial acts in 2080 BS.

Further decisions included revising the plan to grant subsidies to farmers for promoting agricultural enterprises.

The meeting also granted preliminary approval to draft bills aiming to establish legal frameworks for seed supply and pesticide management in the State.

Moreover, as part of the agreement, citizens will be permitted to transport timber from old village homes to rural areas over the next six months.
