KATHMANDU: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan has been sent two letters by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

These letters were sent for his statement regarding the distribution of funds to flood victims on Wednesday and his appointment as press coordinator today, Thursday, for the statement.

The CIAA sent letters to Mayor Maharjan on Wednesday for a statement regarding the distribution of Rs. 150,000 and Rs. 250,000 to flood victims in 2077.

CIAA asked him to present himself at Branch No. 3 with a statement, along with his citizenship and passport-sized photo, by Ashadh 26.

Similarly, employees of the CIAA visited Mayor Maharjan’s office regarding the press coordinator appointment.

Only yesterday, Mayor Maharjan was accused of driving a bulldozer at the residence of Dr. Sumitra Amatya, the CIAA’s chief, and causing damage to the temple’s land.
