Banke police fire 3 rounds to arrest fugitive in robbery case

KATHMANDU: Banke police fired three rounds today, Thursday, to apprehend Sarman Singh Sardar, a fugitive wanted in a robbery case.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Dangi reported that the incident occurred around 8:30 AM when Sardar attempted to flee.

The police had to fire shots mainly due to obstruction by local residents.

One of the bullets fired by the police hit a local resident in the leg, and Sardar was also shot in the knee.

During the incident, a police officer was injured as well.
