Raising disaster awareness through cartoon and illustrations
The exhibition which will continue till July 6 includes disaster-related cartoons by various artists.
KATHMANDU: An art exhibition on disaster risk reduction (DRR) has been organized at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts in Naxal to raise awareness about DRR through caricatures, posters, cartoons and illustrations.
The exhibition is being organised with the joint collaboration of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and the Department of Architecture and Other Creative Arts of NAFA and the Nepal Cartoonist Club.
The exhibition which will continue till July 6 includes disaster-related cartoons by various artists.
Chief executive officer of the Authority, Anil Pokharel, said that art creations have been used because it is easy to convey the message about disaster risk reduction.
Vice chancellor of NAFA, Lalkaji Lama, said that the role of art is important in taking the message about disaster reduction down to the grassroots level.
A total of 27 cartoons, posters, cartoons and illustrations of various artists including cartoonists are on display in the exhibition.
