KATHMANDU: Since the onset of monsoon rains in Sankhuwasabha, 43 families have been displaced due to landslides.

Additionally, 20 sheds have been affected.

The monsoon-related havoc has claimed the lives of two individuals and injured six others. During this period, six motorable bridges have also been damaged by floods.

The displaced families have sought shelter in nearby safe-havens.

The Koshi Highway and rural roads, along with electricity installations, have suffered significant damage according to Dhubra Bahadur Khadka, the Chief District Officer.

Makalu Rural Municipality-2 and Sagaseva and Mulkhola have seen 24 families displaced.

Khandbari Municipality has reported damage to water sources and electrical poles due to the floods.

The flooding has transformed cultivated lands in Bagarmi into marshes.

Prajita Khadka, prepared with three security agencies in the district, mentioned readiness for search and rescue operations.
